Fresh Cuts: August 19-25

Still life with clematis, compost cart and wheel barrow
Things are a little out of hand here, we haven't used this wheel barrow for a few weeks but the clematis has made good use of it.

Anything left to grow unattended and uncut, quickly gets out of control.  Seriously, it is a jungle around the house and barns.

Zeke and Sam, our adorable sibling helpers pose in front of the plume poppy, a perennial that dies to the ground every year in winter.  Then emerges, spreads and grows to towering heights.  To stand under it is to be surrounded by fragrance and bees--hundreds of bees.

Many of the perennials are finished, many of the annuals bloomed out but we still have a good selection this week.
