Fall is nearing...the sun is not up before I am, the evenings cool down quickly, grain dust is on everything and the availability list, instead of getting longer, is shrinking.
This morning I marvel at the beautiful "arrangement" my sweetie has left for me. Like a little bit of poetry on this beautiful still morning.

A very monochromatic harvest, except for the splash of deep red. |

RT planted the last set of sunflowers in the second week of July, since then "Big Blue" has been pretty quiet. Instead of prepping rows for planting RT has exchanged the mower for the rotovator and he is putting 'em down--mowing the rows of flowers too blown to cut before they go to seed.

|
The east fields--the last set of matricaria and the new plume celosia. |
|
The west fields--a row of annual scabiosa and verbena. Very soon they too will meet the mower! |
Our apologies for the shortage of sunflowers last week--this week we have a three set pile-up. That means that the three sets of sunflower rows planted to bloom in succession, each a week apart, are blooming on top of one another. So much for planning, gotta love farming!
So plenty of sunflowers and a whole lot more:

This is a teaser photo, sorry, I could not resist. In the midst of a hundred feet of lime zinnia I found this little charmer. |

The rest of the lime row, so you guessed it, we have beau coup lime zinnias! |
|
We also have white, yellow, orange, red, pink and purple. |
Please check your email and fax for current availability.
The sun is up so I am off to cut flowers.
Buona settimana--have a good weekend.
